Kevin Choteau, director of A Plague Tale: Requiem, was asked in a PlayStation Blog interview if he thought that game marked the end of the brothers’ journey or merely the conclusion of a major arc. “I suppose it’s the end for now,” he responded. Focus Entertainment doesn’t have a lot of big-name titles, so it’s hard to believe they’d let a jewel like A Plague Tale go to waste. However, the company does not have any significant ongoing franchises. It’s doubtful that the series would continue under a new creator if Asobo Studio decided to go on to other projects since, as Choteau says in the same interview, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a “very personal” game. Asobo Studio is taking a risk by developing a sequel to its hit franchise, having garnered a devoted fanbase with its cinematic action-adventure experience. As such, A Plague Tale: Requiem strives to go beyond its predecessor. One driving factor in this development is the aim to personalize how you play Requiem. Even though A Plague Tale: Requiem hasn’t even been released to the public yet, some of us have already begun to speculate about the sequel. Since creator Asobo Studio has no plans to make the third game in the series, fans may want to relish this rat-filled experience while they still can.
