— RibShark (@RibShark) December 24, 2022 Back in the day, a lot of the gamers were confused when the trailer for Rayman 4 didn’t look anything like the game that was released later. What happened was that the game was supposed to be released in the fall of 2006 on all relevant platforms at that time, but at some point, the development was curtailed. The existing developments were eventually used in Rayman Raving Rabbids. You can see the actual trailer for the game down below:
Rayman wasn’t released later then as Raving Rabbids, a spinoff that focuses on minigames, did so well. Most people probably don’t know that the game was supposed to be Rayman 4 at one point during its development. The leaked build has a few test levels, including one that is inside a huge Rabbid robot. The gameplay trailer shows some of Rayman’s signature martial arts moves from the teaser trailer, as well as an early version of his plunger pistol that seems to shoot carrots for some reason. A Twitter user, later, posted a video of a test level that looks like it takes place on a spaceship. There are more glimpses of melee action and movement in the film, as well as early Rabbid models that look like those in the trailer. It was revealed that Rayman has a chain ability, showing that some concepts made it through the game’s rewrite.
— Zombie (@TheZombieKiller) December 24, 2022 The game was announced at E3 2006 and came out as Raving Rabbids, 6 months later. How is it that so much changed and was adjusted in such a short time? Tell us in the comments what you think about this situation and what you think might have happened.
