The lower R5 and R3 varaints may have different boxes due to their lower pricing. The icing on the cake is the fact that this leak also came with the expected MSRPs of these CPUs Ryzen 7 7700X MSRP = Ryzen 7 5700X MSRP ($299) Ryzen 7 7800X MSRP > Ryzen 7 5800X MSRP ($449) Ryzen 9 7xy0X MSRP > Ryzen 9 5xy0X MSRP (Credit : Videocardz) AMD plans to keep the MSRP for the R7 7800X similar to its Zen3 counterpart, however, higher-end variants will see a bump in pricing. If we follow previous leaks, AMD accidentally tagged a few upcoming CPUs in their marketing resource file for the Ryzen PRO CPU namely:
Ryzen 9 7950XRyzen 9 7900XRyzen 7 7700XRyzen 5 7600X
As you can see, the initial leaks had no mention of AMD’s R7 7800X. However, these new internal leaks say otherwise. We can expect the R7 7800X to be in the initial launch lineup of Zen4. Expect the R5 and R3 Zen4-based SKUs to launch later. Greymon came to the rescue with more clarification. The R7 7800X is priced higher than the R7 5800X ($449). For an 8-core CPU, I do not think anyone would be willing to pay nearly $500. So this possible ‘R7 7800X’ may be the –X3D refresh (set to arrive next year) or maybe AMD plans to ship the 7800X with 10/12 cores at 105W.
— Greymon55 (@greymon55) August 10, 2022 As always, take these leaks with a grain of salt. AMD plans to launch its Raphael CPUs on the 15th of September, where an expected announcement date is on the 29th of August.
